Tuesday’s Cupful: A healthier spin on traditional fried rice

More nutrition you can bite into

We admit that –at first -- the notion of fried rice made from brown rice didn’t really appeal to the Mixed Stew crew.  The use of brown Calrose rice, however, really makes a difference in mimicking the taste and texture found in traditional fried rice.  The extra sticky consistency also feels right for absorbing and enhancing the flavors found in the added meat and veggies.  Brown rice also contains more fiber per serving compared to regular white rice.
