Try other cuts
The short ribs in this recipe can be substituted with a chuck roast, pot roast, or even brisket. The key is a long cooking time so that the meat braises and ends up soft and tender. If you don’t have balsamic vinegar, remember that you can use wine, cider vinegar, or palm vinegar. The granulated sugar can be switched out with brown sugar, molasses, or honey.
