Friday’s Last Spoonful: Dangmyeon

Healthy glass noodles

We think you’ll like sweet potato noodles (Korean vermicelli aka dangmyeon in Korean ) as a substitute for rice noodles or even yellow egg noodles. These noodles are made from sweet potato starch and water. Their chewy texture, when cooked, is a noticeable trademark and means there’s more bite in every portion. Sweet potato noodles typically come in a heavier cut compared to finer thread of bean noodles. Add these noodles to your favorite stir-fry and soup recipes for a chewy surprise.

  1. HI - I was telling a friend about these, he lives in Bend, Oregon, can you recommend where he can buy them? I live in Australia and they are always at Asian grocers but I don't know the stores/availability over there.
    Thanks :)
