Wednesday's Helping: Homemade Brown Rice Tea
Brewing it from scratch
Yes, here's a recipe for brown rice tea. You'll have to get your hands on some short grain brown rice but it's worth it.
What you will need:
1 wooden spoon
1 fry-pan
2 cups (uncooked) short grain brown rice
1 medium-sized sauce pan
4 cups water
1 strainer
1 pitcher
Cooking and Directions:
Heat fry-pan on medium-high until hot. Pour brown rice into pan. Toast rice while constantly stirring for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat. Fill saucepan with water. Add toasted brown rice to water. Next, heat up water in saucepan until boiling. Let water boil for 6 to 8 minutes. Pour brewed tea into pitcher while straining. Serve hot or on ice.
