Monday's Bread Bowl: Poor Man's Black Beans
Not just pork and beans
We came up with this dish after noticing more than three or four cans of black beans in The Mixed Stew pantry. The mix of ham and spicy chorizos creates a slow-cooked dish with layers of flavor. Here's the recipe:
What you will need:
1 crock pot with lid
1 large spoon
5 (15 oz.) cans black beans
1 medium yellow onion, chopped small
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 ham bone
1 cup, ham flesh, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 (14 oz.) can chicken broth
2 chorizos links, cut into bite-sized pieces
Pinch of salt and pepper
Cooking & Directions
Place all ingredients in crock pot and mix well. Cover with lid. Set crock pot to a 6 hour cooking time. Let ingredient cook for 6 to 8 hours then serve.
